At Peak Pharmacies, we really encourage our customers to book their Flu Vaccination NOW, to ensure accurate timing for their Covid-19 Vaccinations.
Who should get the flu shot?
The Department of Health recommend the flu shot for everyone over the age of 6 months as it is the most important measure to prevent the flu and its further complications. Please note that our Pharmacists can immunise anyone over 10 years of age.
When do we need the flu shot?
According to the Department of Health, it is ideal that people receive their Influenza vaccinations before the start of the flu season - which in Australia typically ranges from from June-September however it is not possible to predict what the 2021 flu season will look like.
It is still not confirmed as to when Pharmacists will be able to administer the Covid-19 Vaccination.
It is not recommended that the flu vaccination and the covid-19 vaccination be administered less that 14 days apart from one another
If you are considered eligible for phase 1a, it is important you receive your covid-19 vaccination as soon as possible.
Those in later stages should book their Flu Vaccinations now, to ensure the required time in between the flu vaccination and the covid-19 vaccination is met.
